#Romance #Review Twisted Up by Erin Nicholas

Title: Twisted Up
Author: Erin Nicholas
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Source: Amazon

First I have to say that while I loved this book, I'm not a fan of the cover. After reading the story, the two people on the cover look nothing like how I picture Avery and Jake in my head.

Now that's out of the way, let's get to the story itself. Its been a few years since I've read a book by this author, but I'm glad I picked up Twisted Up. Jake and Avery were both really likable. It was kind of a friends to lovers type of story, but with a little bit of a twist...and I'm not talking about the tornado that makes an appearance.

I tend to like books that have a very logical progression to them and this was exactly that type of book. The romance between these two happened naturally. It wasn't rushed and it wasn't without its road bumps. They both had their own obstacles to overcome. The ending was sweet and really quite perfect for them. I couldn't wait to see them get their HEA.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a sexy small town love story.

About the Author

I've been reading romance since my mom first let me into her book cupboard when I was about fourteen. LaVyrle Spencer, Julie Garwood, Debbie Macomber... they took my 'happily ever after' ideas from animated princesses to real people in the real world.

I've been writing romance almost as long. Many a family car trip was spent with my head bent over a spiral notebook in the back seat. I'll confess that my very first attempts at fiction were fantasy and paranormals, influenced by my father's love of the Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, and the original Alice in Wonderland. If Harry Potter had been around, I'm sure he would have been on the bedtime story shelf as well.

But it wasn't long until I started writing about true love and that's where I've been ever since.

I'm so thrilled to be able to share these stories with you! I hope that they make you smile, sigh, maybe even choke up a little. Most of all, I hope that they help you believe in magical things like first kisses, the spark of passion, and the power of true love.

His head and bare shoulders were visible above the water as his arms moved fluidly over his head and down into the water. He was a confident swimmer and obviously in shape. The sun was still making its way up into the sky, but there was enough light for her to see the well-toned muscles tense and flex as he moved through the water. She felt something as she watched him but quickly suppressed it. The man was a pampered athlete who was used to women falling at his feet. Attractive or not, there was no way she was becoming another notch on his belt.

Red Zone

The only thing Rebecca Carson ever wanted to do was join the FBI. Now, that was in danger because of a situation, of which she’d had little control. So when her ex-partner and mentor, Travis Hansen, calls and offers her an opportunity to help him with a job, she jumps at the chance.

Gage Daniels has made a pretty good life for himself. As a professional football player, all he has to do is ask, and most things are made available to him. This includes women. A well timed smile is usually all it takes to attract the opposite sex, especially in Nashville.

When a stalker threatens Gage, the team owner calls an old friend to help protect his star quarterback. Rebecca must work to protect Gage while staving off his advances. The last thing she wants is to be another notch on a hot shot athlete’s belt.

#Romance #Review True North by Marie Force

Title: True North
Author: Marie Force
Rating: 4 stars

It's been a while since I've read anything from Marie Force. Not sure why, other than the fact that I have more books on my TBR list then I have time to read.

True North is another example of why I enjoy this author. Her writing pulls you into the story and makes you care about the characters.

The story focuses around Travis and Liana. These two butted heads a few times due to each's independence, but that is why they made such a great couple. Neither overpowered the other and when they screwed up they admitted they were wrong.

I read somewhere that this book almost didn't get published because someone told the author that no one wanted to read about a beautiful model heroine. I'm so glad she didn't listen because this book was definitely worth the read.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a summer romance with a little bit of mystery mixed in.

#Romance #Review of Daisy Does It All by Kylie Gilmore

Title: Daisy Does It All
Author: Kylie Gilmore
Rating: 3 stars

This is the second book I've read by Kylie Gilmore and I have to say I didn't like it as much as the first. Not in that it wasn't well written, because it was, but more because I didn't care all that much for the heroine, Daisy.

Readers met Daisy in the first book of this series, The Opposite of Wild, and to be honest I wasn't all that impressed with her then. However, from experience I know that sometimes views can change once you get inside a character's head. That was not the case here. In the first book, Daisy came off as immature and a bit of a brat. In Daisy Does It All, she still came off as immature and a bit of a brat. I had a hard time relating to her. I also had a really hard time understanding why Trav wanted to be with her.

Speaking of Trav, I liked him a lot. He was a great hero. He had a great sense of humor, but could be extremely protective when the situation called for it. And his relationship with his brothers and even the way he was with Daisy and his son were definite pluses in my book.

If this was the first book I'd read by this author, I'm not sure I would be reading anymore. But I loved the first book in this series and despite Daisy, I loved Trav, so I will read the next book in the series.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a sweet, yet sexy, romance with a slightly less mature heroine.

His hands slid down her lower back to cup her backside, pulling her against him. The feel of her soft curves pressed against him just fueled his desire.
When Chris lifted her up, it took little encouragement from him before she wrapped her legs around him.
Her lips were so soft against his, but they met his kisses with equal fervor. He could taste the orange juice she had with breakfast, but it held a minty undertone and the warm sweetness he remembered from the kiss last night.

Why did I ever think this was a bad idea?
