What I'm Currently Reading - More Than Need You

Next on my TBR list is More Than Need You by Shayla Black. This is the second book in the series. I can't wait!

I discovered my ex’s secret. Now I’ll do anything to make her my wife.

I’m Griffin Reed—real estate’s bad boy and a cutthroat bastard. Trust is a four-letter word and everyone is disposable…except Britta Stone. Three years ago, she was my everything before I stupidly walked away. I thought I’d paid for my sin in misery—until the night I learn we have a son together and she’s engaged to another man. Now I’m determined to claim her and make the three of us a family. Since Britta won’t even speak to me, I have to get ruthless.

I make the gorgeous, independent single mother a deal: spend twenty-four/seven with me until her wedding day—under my roof and, if I have my way, in my bed. If she doesn’t love me by then, I’ll leave for good. Britta vows she’ll never want me again…but our stolen, passionate kisses make her a liar. I pour on the romance and slowly set about coaxing her surrender. Once she can no longer deny what’s in her heart, then I’ll stop at nothing to prove I more than need her.

Blocking Your Time And Setting Realistic Goals

This really must be something I need to hear right now as this is the second video I've watched on this topic in as many days.

While this one is shorter and more general, the first one I watched was specifically about writing. The takeaway, don't plan for the ideal. Make your plan realistic and realize that life, etc. happens.

Sure I may want to write every day, but given the fact I'm also running another business and trying to cook, clean, etc., is that really realistic?

The writing video I watched suggested printing out a blank calendar from Google, then blocking it in with all the tasks and commitments you have for the month so you can see, realistically, how much 'free' time you have for writing and marketing.

Since my schedule changes so much from week to week, I decided to do this for a week instead of a month.

WOW was I shocked. No wonder I have trouble finding time to write.

When I sat down and blocked my week out, I found I had all of eight hours 'free'. In an entire week!

Now, that doesn't seem so bad, right? I mean, sure eight hours isn't a lot. That's two chapters, minimum, right?

Wrong.

Eight hours is the total amount of 'free' time. That means marketing tasks have to be worked in there somewhere. And, that's not taking into consideration that life, as it always does, happens. Things will come up.

No matter how much I'd love it to be so, there is no way I'm getting that entire eight hours to dedicate to writing. At best, I'll get half that.

So this week, that's what I'm planning for. Four hours of writing and four hours of marketing/other life stuff that may come up.

Now, is this an ideal plan? Probably not, but it's not meant to be. What it's meant to do is help me (and you too, if you choose to try this method), from beating yourself up because you aren't meeting the lofty goals you've set for yourself.

Have you ever tried this method? Has it helped you? I'd love to know. Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think of this goal setting method.

What I'm Currently Reading - More Than Want You

I'm changing things up a little this week. Next on my TBR list is an audio book, More Than Want You by Shayla Black. I've seen this one around, but I've never picked it up. I can't wait to listen to it.

I'm Maxon Reed - real estate mogul, shark, asshole. If a deal isn't high-profile and big-money, I pass. Now that I've found the property of a lifetime, I'm jumping. But one tenacious bastard stands between me and success - my brother. I'll need one hell of a devious ploy to distract cynical Griff. Then fate drops a luscious redhead in my lap who's just his type.

Sassy college senior Keeley Kent accepts my challenge to learn how to become Griff's perfect girlfriend. But somewhere between the makeover and the witty conversation, I'm having trouble resisting her. The quirky dreamer is everything I usually don't tolerate. But she's beyond charming. I more than want her; I'm desperate to own her. I'm not even sure how drastic I'm willing to get to make her mine - but I'm about to find out. Contains mature themes.

Currently Reading - Talking Dirty With The Billionaire Boss

It's been a while since I've read Serenity Woods, so I'm looking forward to this one.

He could have any woman he wanted. But for some reason, he wants me…

Dr. Mack Hart is 28.
He’s a computer genius.
A billionaire.
The most gorgeous guy I’ve ever met in real life.
And he wants to see me in his office.

I’m terrified.
I’m pretty sure he’s caught me on security camera.
I took photos of his files when I should have been cleaning.
His research is so important that his rival will pay big money for it.
And I desperately need some of that cash.

But when I walk in, his eyes hold heat, not ice.
And he asks me to be his date at a party that evening.

Scared he’s going to discover my secret, I try to turn him down.
But Mack Hart is a man used to getting his own way.

Currently Reading - Birthday Suit

This weekend I'm reading Birthday Suit by Lauren Blakely. I'm in the mood for a little HEAT, and this author never disappoints.

The one unbreakable rule in the Man Code is this: no matter how beautiful, smart, and clever she is, do not fall in love with your best friend’s woman.

Yeah, so I screwed up big time when I fell for her.

I might have let my sin of unrequited love slide, given everything that went down in the last few years, but Lulu just walked back into my life as vibrant as ever.

And the cards are stacked against me once again. We’re working together, and the last thing I want to do is mess up her life with a forbidden office romance now that she’s finally got the fresh start she deserves.

Trouble is, she’s even more irresistible than ever, and this time around I’m not sure any code can hold me back.

Even if I stand to lose everything...

Currently Reading - Gotta Be Bayou

I'm a sucker for law enforcement romances. Can't wait to dive into this one.

How do you get over a woman you never should have been, ahem, under in the first place?

Just when FBI special agent Spencer Landry had decided to forget about investigative journalist Maxine-Max-Keller and their one hot night together, there's a threat made against her and Spencer's protective instincts get all riled up. Again.

So now they're shacking up on the Louisiana bayou and pretending to be in love so he can keep Max safe until the guy is apprehended.

Considering their chemistry and that he can not stop thinking about the gorgeous-and-doesn't-know-it, smart-mouthed, bold-and-yet-vulnerable redhead, this could be a fun few days, right?

Nope. She's all wrong for him.

And she hasn't forgotten he can be kind of a jerk.

Sure, the naked-times are great, but he told her exactly what he wants— a bubbly, sweet school teacher who bakes him brownies and loves to cuddle—and Max ain't it.

Max not only doesn't bake, no one has ever called her sweet. And cuddling? Shudder.

Plus his bossiness is super annoying for someone who's been taking care of herself all her life. But now they're stuck together and dammit, besides being hot and very good with his mouth, Spencer is pretty irresistible with baby goats, little kids, and attempts at baking. And don't forget alpha-protective. All of which makes her stomach feel very swoop-y. No wonder her clothes keep falling off.

But this is a temporary situation and they're only faking it. So falling for the guy is a terrible idea.

She really should have kept that in mind.
