She stood waiting.
He said he’d be here over an hour ago, but she wasn’t giving
up hope. Something could have delayed him. Yes, she had to keep telling herself
that.
The rain soaked the boards of the pier sending a cool breeze
across her legs and up her dress. Normally, it would bother her, but she was
too busy watching, waiting.
Another twenty minutes went by, and nothing.
She was just about to give up, go back to her empty house,
when she saw something…someone walking towards her. Without giving it a second
thought, she ran to meet him.
It's so interesting what a rainy, dark pier can do to your thoughts. Very thought provoking and beautiful.

ReplyDeleteOh wow, lets hope it was Him and not some axe murderer walking toward her. Seriously, I loved the angst of her waiting and wondering if he would show up. I've actually been in that situation myself.
