I recently read and reviewed the first book in Lynn Raye Harris' HOT series, Hot Pursuit, and enjoyed it so much that when I saw the second book was on sale I had to snatch it up. This book had less suspense and more romance than the first book, which from my view only made it better. I don't mind a little mystery and suspense in my books but I want the romance to be the driving force. That's exactly what Hot Mess offers.
Unlike Hot Pursuit, Hot Mess is a novella, but don't think that takes away from the story. I loved Sam and Georgie. The build up was nicely done.
Another thing about this series that I love is that the author doesn't have these women try to change their men. There is another series that I'm reading where the heroes have dangerous jobs, just like the ones in this series. But in that one it ends with the men leaving their profession for less dangerous jobs in order to make their woman happy. I'm very pleased that isn't the case with this series.
Good editing and great story telling in this one. I can't honestly think of one thing I would change...except maybe making it a little longer so we could have more of Sam and Georgie. Lynn Raye Harris is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great military romance.
