Story Origin - Seducing Janey #BoysInBlue
The second story in my Boys In Blue box set is Seducing Janey.
Janey Davis is a detective in Indianapolis. We meet her in Crossing the Line and get to know her as Paul's partner. Because she and Paul are chasing a serial killer, we get to see a fair amount of her. And the more I wrote her character, the more I feel in love with her. I knew I was going to need to tell her story.
The challenge was who to pair her up with. Janey is a strong woman. She's a female detective working in a profession that's dominated by men. She's tough, doesn't take any BS, and can hold her own in just about any situation. So who would be her perfect match?
Kyle Reed fit the bill. He's a small town sheriff's deputy that isn't intimidated by a strong woman. It helps that he helped to raise his sister, a strong woman in her own right.
Putting Janey and Kyle together meant creating a story line that would not only have them meeting each other once, but throwing them together for a significant amount of time. An unsolved series of murders was the key. Janey has to travel to the small fictional town of Liberty, Indiana to investigate a John Doe that's been found and Kyle has been assigned to be her local guide as it were.
The chemistry between these two was off the chats from the start and I enjoyed exploring their romance...and the murder mystery.
