With the release of Claiming His Kiss less than two weeks away, it has most of my focus, at the moment. I've been teasing Daniel and Ali's story since I wrote the first book in this series. Both characters are mentioned in the series prequel, Welcome to Serpent's Kiss, and they've continued to make appearances in every other book I've written in the Serpent's Kiss BDSM Club series.
While writing Welcome to Serpent's Kiss, I was reading a May to December romance, and it got the wheels turning in my head. In the one I was reading, the heroine was only eighteen and the hero was in his forties. I knew right way I wanted my heroine to be older. I didn’t want any issues with her age, which meant my hero needed to be older as well.
To fix that problem, I made Ali thirty-two and Daniel fifty-five. It was the perfect sweet spot. It was a big enough age gap to create a realistic hesitation in pursuing a relationship, but they were both old enough to go into any relationship with their eyes wide open.
Anyone who's been following me for any length of time has probably heard me explain I'm a author who writes by the seat of my pants. This means going into this story, or any story, I have very little idea of where it's going other than at the end the couple will end up together. To some this might be scary, but for me it's exciting.
I get to watch the story unfold as I write it with very little idea of what is coming. I can pivot on the fly. Something that happened many times in Claiming His Kiss.
Daniel and Ali’s story releases on November 15, 2022 and is currently available for pre-order on all major online retailers.
What do you do when the woman you love is having problems with her neighbors? You ask her to move in with you.
Daniel Ross has been lusting after Ali for two years, but she’s young enough to be his daughter. When her new neighbors begin to cause issues for her, his protective instincts kick in. His house is big enough for both of them. She can have her space and he’ll know she’s safe. What could possibly go wrong?
Ever since that first night at the private club where they’re both members, Allison Foster has wanted to explore the pull she feels toward Daniel, but he’s made sure to keep them in the friend zone. She wants more, but every time she’s hinted at the possibility, he turns the tables on her and throws her into the arms of another man. That is until he insists she move into one of the spare rooms.
Living in the same house and sharing meals together means there’s no running away for either of them. But will their age difference be too big of a gap to overcome...especially when his kids find out about the woman who’s moved into their dad’s house?
Claiming His Kiss is the smoking hot fourth novel from Sherri Hayes’s Serpent’s Kiss BDSM Club series. If you like billionaire romances, steamy love scenes, and happily ever afters, then you’ll love Sherri Hayes’s sexy age gap romance.
