RNC Wrap-up
So last week was a world wind for me. If you've been reading my posts over the last several days, you know that I spend the end of last week in Las Vegas at the Romance Novel Convention. It was a great time, and I'm hoping to be able to go again next year. While I was there, I had the opportunity to be interviewed twice by the local media. The first was by the Las Vegas Review Journal, a major regional newspaper. The interview was posted in their Saturday edition. You can read the interview here.
The second interview appeared on Fox 5. It was a taped interview. Everyone was very nice, and Cynthia, the woman who booked the interview, insisted I take an extra bottle of water with me before I left. If you've ever been to Las Vegas, you know how hot and dry it is there. The day before I left, they had a high of 101F with 19% humidity. Living in Ohio, I can tell you that there is no such thing here as 19% humidity. It doesn't exist, so Vegas was quite the change climate wise for me.
Coming Home
The trip home wasn't bad. I was getting concerned when the plane was late coming into Vegas, which meant that we were late boarding. Luckily, the wind was with us, and even leaving roughly 20 minutes late, we landed in Chicago 5 minutes early. Unfortunately, those 5 minutes, plus another 10 were spent sitting on the tarmac while we waited for our gate to be cleared.
Of course when I landed I found that my connecting flight was at the complete opposite end of the terminal. By the time I got to where I needed to go, I had about 5 minutes before they started boarding. It was a good thing I'd thought ahead, knowing I had a tight connection, and ate a big lunch at the airport in Vegas because I didn't have time to get anything to each in Chicago.
Blog Tour
Now that I'm back home, there is a list of things that need my attention. It's one of the downsides to being away from home for five days. One of those things is the Truth Blog tour, which is still going full steam ahead with or without me.
In case you missed them, here is a listing of last week's blog tour stops:
A Diary of a Book Addict. Review of Truth. "I have to
start this review off by saying this series is off the hook! I have never ever
wanted to read a book and then re-read it again until the next book came
out." http://adiaryofabookaddict.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-writers-coffee-shop-presents-truth.html
Sherry Gomes. Review of Truth. “As I read and see not only Brianna’s growth but Stephan’s as well, I
feel like I am watching two friends surmount terribly odds and coming out on
the other side, strong and proud and confident. I wish I could meet them and
tell them how much I applaud who they are, even though, of course, I know they
are only fiction. Perhaps that’s the greatest compliment I can pay the and
their creator.” http://sherrygomes.com/?p=120
