Weekly Update - September 3, 2013

Hello everyone. I hope you all had a great Labor Day yesterday.

The big news last week was the new cover reveal for my debut novel, Hidden Threat. So what do you think? Do you like the new cover better than the old?

Writing

Writing is going well, although it's slow at the moment. As a writer, it happens. There always seems to be a point in each novel where every word written is almost painfully pulled out. It's part of the process though.

Editing is moving along as well. We have roughly 10 more chapters to edit in the first run through for Finding Anna, Book 4. So far we've added more words than we've taken away, so I have no doubt that this book will end up being over 140K by the time its all said and done. We still don't have a firm release date yet. I'll promise I'll pass it along as soon as we do.

Out and About

Yesterday my husband and I decided to go out and enjoy some of the Labor Day shopping around town. In doing so, had the opportunity to share information about my books with two separate ladies. The first was at a store called Ollie's. If you're not familiar with Ollie's, they have seconds, discontinued items, overstock...things of that nature. My husband and I love stores like that because you never know what you're going to find.

One of the items I found was a travel case for my ipad. Whenever I go to conferences I take my ipad with me so that I can use my Square for transactions. I'm always concerned when I have to take it on a plane and usually pack it with my carry-on luggage because I don't want it to get damaged, so this case was perfect.

When I went to check out, the cashier saw it and commented on how neat it was and I struck up a conversation about traveling, packing, and, of course, my books. By the end of the transaction I was handing her a business card.

You never know when the opportunity will present itself.
