Weekly Update - June 10, 2013

Happy Monday everyone!

Yeah, I'm really not that cheery today, but I'm trying. That has to count, right?

It's my first full day home from Lori Foster's RAGT, and I'm still exhausted. It was a great time, but I can't imagine how tired I'm going to be after the RN Con in Las Vegas. Lori's event is only 2 days, not even really. RN Con is 5 full days. I think I might need someone to cart me to the air port when it's over. LOL.

Okay, so enough of that. Let's get to some writing. Honestly, not much got done last week. I did finish another chapter, and polished two others, but that was about it. Thursday I spent packing for the weekend, and then I was gone Friday, Saturday, and half of Sunday. I did hit the 120K mark last week in Finding Anna, Book 4. I'm crossing my fingers that I can finish the book up in another 20K, but I'm not making any promises at this point. I will write until  I feel that the story is done. Simple as that.

Look what I got in the mail today. :)

Truth is only 45 days away!

Pre-orders will start on the TWCS website on June 24th. If you pre-order your copy within the first two weeks, it will included a signed book plate from me, and they are going to ship them out a week early so you might just get your hands on your copy before its available to the general public. Who is loving that?

On to this weekend...

I arrived Friday afternoon, and everything was already in full swing. The event didn't technically start until 3pm, but I found out later that most people came Wednesday or Thursday. It almost reminds me of a reunion of sorts. Many of the same people come year after year, and it's great seeing people you met the year before.
The main ballroom where everyone gathers for meals and the notorious raffles. RAGT raised over $13,000 for the One Way Farm for kids this year toping the $10,000 donation last year.

I met up with several members of my street team at the event. Here we all are together. Thank you ladies for helping to promote my books!

Friday night I sat beside author Duffy Brown. She is one of the co-organizers of the event, and very down to earth. I was lucky enough to be on a panel with her last month at the Ohioana Book Festival. She writes cozy mysteries.
Friday I was also able to meet author C.L. Parker. C.L. and I signed on with TWCS around the same time. She is the author of Supernova, Nexus, and Cataclysm, and she will be releasing a new novel in August through Random House.
Friday night was my book signing, and I ran into a reader I met last year. Mahlet and I sat together for breakfast on Sunday morning at the 2012 RAGT. She ended up walking out with me to my vehicle, and buying a copy of Slave. She's now hooked on the series, and she'd brought books from a friend for me to sign along with a copy of Need she'd bought. It was great seeing her again.

Saturday morning a group of us were sitting around relaxing and talking books. Author Donna McMeans joined us, and I gracious enough to pause for a moment from signing a reader t-shirt to pose for this picture. Donna and I shared a table at this year's Ohioana Book Festival. She writes historical romances.

Weekly Update - June 3, 2013

Hello everyone. I'm going to keep this short today because I am already three days past my deadline for FA4, and my brain is pretty much fried at this point.

Writing is going well for the most part. We've hit a few snags, but nothing a few minor re-writes aren't able to fix. Adjusting them now means that edits will go smoother when the time comes. The manuscript is up to 117K at the moment, and I'm still writing.

Lori Fosters RAGT is this coming weekend. If you're going to be attending, I will be signing my books on Friday evening with the other indie authors. I will have all 5 of my currently released novels with me for sale.

I also received my schedule for RomCon in Colorado Springs yesterday. All  my events will be taking place on Friday, June 21st, as with Lori Foster's RAGT, I will have all my novels with me for sale.
Friday 9:45-10:40 E-1 1st Kisses After Breakfast
Friday 1:00-1:55 E-2 Speed Date #2
Friday 4:30-5:45 Ballroom Author Signing A-J

I hope everyone has a great week. Happy writing and reading.

Weekly Update - May 6, 2013

You may have noticed that I didn't post an update last week. I'm not sure what was going on with me exactly, but I was in a sort of a funk when it came to posting. If you follow me on Twitter, you probably noticed that I didn't post much there either. Not sure what was going on, but hopefully I've gotten things back on track now.

First and foremost, I want to give you an update on my writing. Finding Anna, Book 4 is going well. I hit 70K yesterday, and I'm optimistic that I might actually make my deadline of June 1st. If that does happen, the final book in my Finding Anna series should be out to readers the first part of 2014.

The first blogger reviews for Truth are starting to come in, and so far everyone is loving it. July 25th can't come soon enough!

Monday Update - April 1, 2013

Evening everyone. I hope you all had a great Monday. It's hard to believe it's April already. Time is flying, and when deadlines are right around the corner, that's not a good thing.

The good news is that this last week was my most productive in quite a while. I polished off three full chapters of Finding Anna, Book 4. Now, if I can just keep that pace up through April and May, I'll be in good shape. Right  now I'm brainstorming a plot line with a ex law enforcement officer. I know what I want to happen, I just have to figure out a believable way to do it. *sighs* The hardships of an author. ;)

There were some ready big highlights over the last week. First, and foremost was the reveal of the Truth (Finding Anna, Book 3) cover. What do you think?

I also released an exclusive excerpt over at The SUBCLUB. If you missed it, you can read it here.

For any of you going to the Lori Foster RAGT, I will be signing books on Friday night. B&N still shows my books as POD even though they aren't, so I'll be signing with the self published and ebook only authors. If you're coming on Saturday, send me a message, or leave a comment, and we can find each other at the hotel. I'll have my books with me, and be conducting my own sales that weekend.

I realized this last week that I've never actually went and looked at my Amazon author page. I've updated it, sure, but I've never actually clicked on it to see what it is readers see. If you haven't been to my Amazon Author page, you might want to check it out.

My Facebook page reached a milestone this past Friday by hitting 900 likes. Since Friday, another 20 have been added! Wow. Thanks everyone for your support and love of my stories.

Throughout the month of April, I, along with over 30 other authors, are participating in The SUBCLUB's Spring Giving Event. Each author has picked a charity, and have donated prizes. All you have to do is donate to the charity of the author's choice in order to enter the drawing. To find out all the official rules, click here.

Monday Update - March 25, 2013

Evening everyone. I hope you all had a good start to your week. Mine started with about three inches of snow, but thankfully the roads weren't too bad. I'm really starting to wonder how far away spring really is.

Last week was a great week for writing. I crossed the 40K mark on my WIP. Yay! I've been having fun torturing my editor, giving her little hints as to the story here and there, but not enough to actually tell her anything. lol. I'm a sadist, I know. ;)

Lots going on this week as per usual. First, Red Zone (Daniels Brothers #2), has been nominated for Best Romantic Suspense over at The Romance Reviews. Click here to vote for your favorites.

If you aren't following me on Facebook, you are missing a lot. Over the last two weeks I've been sharing little things about not only my upcoming novel, Truth (Finding Anna, Book 3), but also my WIP, Finding Anna, Book 4. If you're not keeping up to date, you are missing out. To like me on Facebook, click here.

On Friday I was over at Readers After Dark talking about emotional writing. "It’s common to hear both authors and readers talking about characters in books as if they were real people. Those who don’t read often don’t understand, but fellow book lovers do. Good characters and stories suck you in and don’t let you go." To read more, click here.

Saturday I was interviewed over at Italian Brat's Obsessions. Find out what my favorite cookie is, and if I'm a cat or a dog person.

BLOGGERS requests to be part of the Truth (Finding Anna, Book 3) blog tour are starting to come in. If you want to participate, contact Jenny at marketing@thewriterscoffeeshop.com.

Also, mark your calendars. I've confirmed to be at the following events:
Ohioana Book Festival. I will be there along with 90 other Ohio authors. The event will take place on May 11, 2013 from 10:00am to 4:30pm at the Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center. For more information, click here.
9TH ANNUAL READER & AUTHOR GET TOGETHER. Even if you are not registered for the event, there is a book signing open to the public on Saturday, June 8th from 2-4pm in the hotel lobby. For more information, please visit the event web site.

Monday Update - March 11, 2013

Good Monday morning everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend. It was beyond beautiful here in Ohio yesterday, and my husband and I took the oppertunity to get out of the house and go for a walk in one of our local parks. We needed the fresh air and sunshine desparately here after the snow and overcast skys we've had lately.

This week was very busy for me on the personal side of life, so very little writing got accomplished. I did, however, go back through the eleven chapters of Finding Anna, Book 4 that I'd already written and do some adjusting. That added almost 1,000 words to my overall total. Luckily this week is looking a lot less busy, so I'm planning to get some good writting time in.

There was some big news this week. My publisher lowered the price on all my ebooks with the exception of my newest novel, Red Zone. Check out the new prices!

Hidden Threat - $5.99
Slave (Finding Anna, Book 1) - $6.99
Behind Closed Doors (Daniels Brothers #1) - $6.99
Need (Finding Anna, Book 2) - $7.99

The Lori Foster Reader and Author Get Together opened their registration this week. Knowing how fast the event sold out last year, I made sure to be at home in front of my computer Monday afternoon. It was a good thing too since all the author spots filled up in less than twenty-four hours, and as of this morning Lori posted that there were only twenty reader openings left. Hopefully I will see some of you there in June!

I joined a new networking site called Libboo this week. If you're not a memeber, you might want to check it out. By talking about, and sharing your thoughts on books, buzzing, you earn points that can get you free stuff. As I said, its new, but the premise sounds very cool. And if you do join, make sure you follow me. :)
