Weekly Update - May 20, 2013

I missed my weekly update again last week. My apologies. I've been so focused on writing Finding Anna, Book 4 that everything else has taken a back seat.

Speaking of writing, things have been going well for the past two weeks. I've made huge progress on my WIP. Still no idea if I'll have it finished by my June 1st deadline, but I'm doing my best. Finding Anna, Book 4 is now up to 89K, and growing every day. I have no idea how long this one will be, but I do know it will be my longest book to date. Truth, due out July 25th, finished up at 98K. This one will surpass that easily.

As I mentioned, Truth (Finding Anna, Book 3) will be out July 25th - that's 66 days from today. I can't wait. I'm so proud of this one. :)

I spent last Saturday at the Ohioana Book Festival. The event gets bigger every year, which is great. One day I'm hoping that all readers in Ohio are made aware of this event and take the opportunity to partake. There ended up being over 100 authors this year with books that ranged from a military history to a book on breakfast cereals, to all manner of fiction from children's picture books to steamy romance. If you haven't been, and you're in Ohio, you should mark your calendars for next year. The book festival is always the second Saturday in May, and its FREE to attend.
Only a few days left to enter to win a signed copy of Slave through the SUBCLUB's Spring Giving Event. Help support these great charities by clicking here.

Weekly Update - May 6, 2013

You may have noticed that I didn't post an update last week. I'm not sure what was going on with me exactly, but I was in a sort of a funk when it came to posting. If you follow me on Twitter, you probably noticed that I didn't post much there either. Not sure what was going on, but hopefully I've gotten things back on track now.

First and foremost, I want to give you an update on my writing. Finding Anna, Book 4 is going well. I hit 70K yesterday, and I'm optimistic that I might actually make my deadline of June 1st. If that does happen, the final book in my Finding Anna series should be out to readers the first part of 2014.

The first blogger reviews for Truth are starting to come in, and so far everyone is loving it. July 25th can't come soon enough!

Weekly Update - April 23, 2013

I know. I'm a day late with this update. A group of us spent the weekend in Fort Wayne, IN for a girls weekend. It was loads of fun, but exhausting at the same time. When I got home, I took a 2 hour nap, and I'm still not fully recovered. My mind and body are not in work mode, which is making getting anything productive accomplished a challenge.

A lot of non writing things got in the way last week, but I did manage to finish another chapter in FA4. My beta is comping at the bit for the next chapter, which in my view is a very good thing. It means I'm doing my job well. If she didn't care, then there would be something wrong, right?

TRUTH IS OFF TO THE PRINTERS!!!!!! The head of the TWCS graphics department emailed me the final proof of Truth last week, along with the full cover for me to sign off on. It is now out of all our hands. Now we wait. July 25th can't get here soon enough. I can't wait for you all to read this one. Some early reviews have already started to come in from bloggers for this one. Here is what one of them had to say, "Exceptional, Enthralling, thought- provoking, soul gripping and shockingly intense!"

I updated my website with all the conventions I'll be attending this year. I'll be going to one almost every month throughout the rest of the year, and will be as far west as Las Vegas. Hopefully I will get to meet lots of readers along the way. To check out the up to date list, click here.

There is only one more week to make your donation to The SUBCLUB's Spring Giving Event. If you haven't yet taken a look, please do so before April 30th. I will be sending out a signed copy of Slave to someone. *My giveaway is open internationally* http://thesubclubbooks.com/?page_id=9835#

Monday Update - April 15, 2013

Happy Tax Day to all of those in the US.

Yeah, right. LOL.

On to more pleasant topics, like writing and books. :)

Last week was fairly productive. I added over 5K to my WIP. I'm not sitting at just under 58,000 words. There is no telling how long this book is going to be since I think I'm about halfway at this point. If that's really the case, then this book could be well over 100K by the time I'm finished. I somehow don't think most of you will have a problem with that. ;)

I updated my website with some new information, and rearranged a few things as well. There is more I need to add/change, but if you haven't stopped by my website lately, please do. I love my blog, and I try to keep things as up to date here as possible, but sometimes its easier to sift through things on the website than trying to find them here.

This past week I added Red Zone to my list of books on Authorgraph. If you aren't aware of what Authorgraph is, its a program that allows authors to personalize and 'sign' readers ebooks. If you have an ebook of one or more of my books, and would like me to sign it, go to http://www.authorgraph.com/authors/Sherri_Hayes.

You're probably getting sick of hearing about this already, but here is another reminder about the SUBCLUB's Spring Giving Event. I'm participating with more than 30 other authors. Every author has selected a charity, and donated some pretty amazing prizes from signed books to swag. All you have to do is donate in order to enter. http://thesubclubbooks.com/?page_id=9835

My Finding Anna Series was featured on Maryse's Book Blog last week.

Slave and Need also made Ana's Attic's list of Favorite Dom/sub or BDSM Romance Books and Series.

I wrote a guest blog post for Ali's Bookshelf talking about what is on MY bookshelf. Find out what books I've read that now have a permanent spot on my bookshelf.

The official program for Ohioana 2013 is out. I'll be on the Fiction by Women: A Writer's Roundtable panel from 12:45pm to 1:30pm. There are lots of activities all day long including a book fair of 90+ Ohio authors with genres ranging from childrens picture books to erotica, author panels, and children's activities. If you're in Ohio, or will be on May 11th, consider stopping by and seeing what the Ohioana Book Festival is all about.http://www.ohioanabookfestival.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/2013-OBF-Program-web.pdf

Monday Update - April 8, 2013

Happy Monday everyone. Spring has finally arrived here in Ohio. I was beginning to wonder if it would ever get here with the cold weather we were having, but alas it is supposed to be in the 70's all week. I can't wait!

The first part of last week was all about taxes. If you're in the US, you know that April 15th is approaching fast, and unfortunately Uncle Sam isn't going to take 'I have to write' as an excuse as to why my taxes aren't done on time. It put my writing on hold for three days, which sucked, but I did manage to make some good progress toward the end of the week.

One evening I was picking the brain of a consultant I use for my Finding Anna Series. He's a Dom, but he was also in law enforcement for several years. During our conversation, I had to go on Youtube and find a video of what he was talking about so I'd fully understand what we were discussing. My husband walked into the study and found me watching a video about gun holsters. LOL. Needless to say I had some explaining to do. ;)

Last night I finished up Chapter 19 in FA4, and sent that off to my beta. For now, my muse seems to be working with me, so I'm hoping to make some good progress on the manuscript this week. I've sitting at a little over 50K right now...it felt great to hit that milestone. No idea how long this one is going to be though, since I still know there is a ton of story to cover yet. I'm sure you all won't mind if this one is extra long, right?

The SUBCLUB's Spring Giving Event is still going on, and I've donated a signed copy of Slave along with 5 sets of signed bookmarks to the cause. I selected The Polaris Project as my charity for this event. If you don't know anything about them, please check them out. They help to educate, support, and advocate for victims of human trafficking around the word. As you know, this is a subject that is close to my heart. http://thesubclubbooks.com/?page_id=9835

As of April 2nd, TWCS announced that Red Zone (Daniels Brothers #2) is now available for download for only $6.99. You can get it at this new lower price from Amazon, iBooks, or direct from the TWCS website.

Thursday I was over at Naomi Shaw's blog talking about how I became a full time author.

On Friday, my editor featured me on her blog. Check out her post titled 'My First Pick...Truth by Sherri Hayes, Finding Anna Book 3!' Click here to read it.

Monday Update - April 1, 2013

Evening everyone. I hope you all had a great Monday. It's hard to believe it's April already. Time is flying, and when deadlines are right around the corner, that's not a good thing.

The good news is that this last week was my most productive in quite a while. I polished off three full chapters of Finding Anna, Book 4. Now, if I can just keep that pace up through April and May, I'll be in good shape. Right  now I'm brainstorming a plot line with a ex law enforcement officer. I know what I want to happen, I just have to figure out a believable way to do it. *sighs* The hardships of an author. ;)

There were some ready big highlights over the last week. First, and foremost was the reveal of the Truth (Finding Anna, Book 3) cover. What do you think?

I also released an exclusive excerpt over at The SUBCLUB. If you missed it, you can read it here.

For any of you going to the Lori Foster RAGT, I will be signing books on Friday night. B&N still shows my books as POD even though they aren't, so I'll be signing with the self published and ebook only authors. If you're coming on Saturday, send me a message, or leave a comment, and we can find each other at the hotel. I'll have my books with me, and be conducting my own sales that weekend.

I realized this last week that I've never actually went and looked at my Amazon author page. I've updated it, sure, but I've never actually clicked on it to see what it is readers see. If you haven't been to my Amazon Author page, you might want to check it out.

My Facebook page reached a milestone this past Friday by hitting 900 likes. Since Friday, another 20 have been added! Wow. Thanks everyone for your support and love of my stories.

Throughout the month of April, I, along with over 30 other authors, are participating in The SUBCLUB's Spring Giving Event. Each author has picked a charity, and have donated prizes. All you have to do is donate to the charity of the author's choice in order to enter the drawing. To find out all the official rules, click here.

Monday Update...on Tuesday?

Happy Tuesday everyone. I know I'm a day late with the update, but with good reason. Yesterday was my birthday, so I took the day off and treated myself to a little pampering at a local spa. It was great, and very much needed. I spent four and a half hours there getting a facial, massage, manicure, and pedicure. Heaven!

On to what you really want to know about...writing.

Last week was very productive. The reader edit for Truth (Finding Anna, Book 3) came back to me. This is the final polish edit, and luckily my editor and I did a great job so there weren't many things that needed fixed. Truth is now off to the formatter. I should be getting the final sign off soon. This means if you're a blogger interested in getting an ARC of Truth or want to be part of the Truth blog tour, you might want to get your name into TWCS marketing soon. The blog tour for Red Zone filled up quickly, and I have a feeling the one for Truth will go even faster.

Speaking of Truth... Next Monday, March 25th, I will be revealing the first sneak peak of Truth over on The SUBCLUB blog. Make sure you stop by and check it out next week.

The following Monday, April 1st, is another date to mark on your calendars. I'll be revealing the new Truth cover right here on my blog.

In other writing news, I pumped out two new chapters in Finding Anna, Book 4 this last week. Things are moving right along now that Truth has pretty much been finalized...at least the writing and editing portion of it. I'm hoping this week will at least be as productive.
