She felt him before she saw him.
Light was streaming in from beneath the closed door, but other than that the room was dark. She’d tried to adjust her eyes, to get ready for what she knew was coming, but it was useless. This was his territory.
She took a deep breath, waiting.
Suddenly, his body pressed up against her back and his hand came up to cover her mouth. Even though she knew he’d been there, that it’d only been a matter of time, a silent scream died in her throat.
“Did I keep you waiting long?” he whispered.
